個人的に思い出すままに。
ロンドン駐在から帰国して、プロのピアノトリオの伴奏付きで、ジャズコーラスをカルテットで
ピアノバーなどで歌って楽しんでいましたが、
バーバーショップを多人数で歌っているコーラスがあるらしいから見てきて、とリーダーに言われて
偵察に江東文化センターでの東京バーバーズの練習を拝見に行きました。2003年のことです。
それまでバーバーショップは、カルテットでやるものと思っていたし、自分もその経験しか無かったので、ヘエーこんなコーラスがあるんだあと不思議な物を見た気持ちでした。しかも振りが付いてる！！
自分が想像していた物とはかなり違う本場物と思いました。
振りが付く部分には些かの戸惑いはあったものの、その場で入団を申し入れたものです。
私の報告を聞いたリーダーは、「何だもうミイラになっちまったのかえ！（笑）」（GEO 栗本）
My joining episode
As I personally remember.
After returning from resident London, I enjoyed singing jazz chorus in a quartet by accompaniment of a professional piano trio at the piano bar.
One day, the leader of the quartet said, “There seems to be a chorus singing a barbershop harmony with a large number of people, so take a look.”
I went to see the Koto Cultural Center to scout the practice of Tokyo Barbers. It was in 2003.
Until then, I had only thought that the barbershop would be done in a quartet, and I had only that experience, so I felt like I saw something strange that there was such a large number of choruses. And it comes with choreography !!
I thought it was a real thing that was quite different from what I had imagined.
Although I was a little confused about the part with choreography, I applied for membership on the spot.
