Main Street

Main Street(メイン・ストリート)は、バーバーショップ・ハーモニー協会の2017年のチャンピオン・カルテットです。

バリトンのマイクとベースのマイロンは、初のカルテットとしての金メダルですが、
テナーのロジャーは2つ目の金、リードのトニーは、何と4つ目の金メダルです。
トニーの4つの金メダルの内、2つはバリトンで、2つはリードでの受賞です。

最初に、ロジャーとトニーが金メダルを取ったカルテットは、2009年の東京バーバーズ・ショウのゲスト・カルテットKeepsake(キープセイク)です。
この時は、バリトンのトニーは仕事の都合で来日できず、かわりにAcoustix(アクースティクス)のテナーTodd Wilson(トッド・ウィルソン)が、Keepsakeに参加しました。
Keepsakeが金メダルを取ったのは1992年ですから、当時トニーはまだ二十歳そこそこ。
同じKeepsakeの1993年と2017年のOnce Upon A Timeの演奏を見比べると、四半世紀の歳月が感じられます。

次に、トニーが金メダルを取ったのは2000年、Keepsakeの時のリードのジョーと再び組んだPlatinum(プラチナム)。

トニーの3つ目の金メダルは、Max Q(マックス・キュー)のリードで。Platinumの時にテナーを歌っていたゲィリーが、バリトンを歌っています。

そして、トニーの4つ目の金メダルは、20年の歳月を経て再びロジャーと組んだ、ストロー・ハットがトレード・マークのMain Street(メイン・ストリート)。
